Reviews &

We were very lucky to have a week’s stay at Beach House in August 2016. The setting
is incredible, just literally a stone’s throw away from the sea and the amazing panoramic view, we very much doubt you will get a holiday home this close to the sea.

Our stay was with 4 adults and 4 children, there was plenty of space for everybody.

This included a huge kitchen diner complete with a big enough table and seats for all to enjoy meals. The local area is stunning, the sunsets to die for.

The kids loved it, when the tide was out they were crabbing and when the tide was in

they were swimming or climbing across the Jurassic coastline. There are loads of

coastal walks, one of the days we all walked to Ilfracombe to get our daily fix of fudge

and ice-creams. We would highly recommend. Louise, Kirk, Henry and Lois, UK

Located in an area of truly outstanding natural beauty Beach House provided us

the perfect setting for the most memorable of family holidays.

The house is spacious and laid out perfectly for sharing time together as a family. We spent lots of time sitting around the enormous dinner table chatting,
the living was large and provided the perfect breakout space for the youngsters.
The bedrooms were all spacious and allowed for a relaxing nights sleep.

The house is right on the beach and the beach is a real gem. There is plenty to do, we savoured the relaxed time spent taking in the coastal vibe & it was paradise.
We definitely want to return and stay again the next time we are in the UK.

Great location and fabulous house right on the beautiful Lee Bay sea front!

We have been lucky enough to stay in beach house a few times over the last 5 years and it has been fantastic every time. So many wonderful memories.

You can’t beat having a beach as a front garden! It’s a superb location. If you have kids, there’s hours of fun rock pooling and when the tide is out it’s a short walk to the unspoilt, secret beach next door with a little cave.

It’s also nice to take a walk into the village and visit the local town hall. We’ve been a few times and particularly like the craft fair and the home made cakes. There is also a cafe next door to the beach house that sells delicious hot chocolate and ice creams. Another highlight was the Woody Bay Steam Train Ride which the kids really enjoyed.

Beach house is large, comfortable, warm, clean and well equipped. Two families easily fit comfortably. The dining room / kitchen is spacious and the perfect place to get together.

It’s very relaxing to sit on the front patio and look at the stunning view over the bay.

We have had the best holidays here ever! Thank you. The Van Bostelen Family, Holland

Beach House has an idyllic location if your looking for a coastal holiday let off the beaten track. It feels like an undiscovered cove right outside the door. The house has plenty of space with a homely and stylish feel. The kitchen is large and open plan which encouraged us to do lots of home cooking during our stay. We'd love to go back! I have stayed here a couple of times. Once with my husband and another time with my sister and her family, including children. The house is right next to Lee Bay and you feel very close to the elements and nature. A perfect spot for some rest and relaxation. In fact the Autumn watch team were there when we visited! They were looking at the rock pools in the bay when the tide was out. There are plenty of opportunities to do this.

When I stayed in Autumn, at times the sea was quite rough, but inside the house was warm and it was very quiet. I enjoyed watching the changing tides and nature of the sea. Being detached there are no immediate neighbours but the surrounding few homes on the opposite side of the bay make it quite picturesque. I loved the view which is easily seen from the house.

One day we followed the bay round to the left and did a climb up to the top of the cliff to get a wonderful view. This climb is easier than it sounds. Alternatively if you come out of the house and walk to the right, through the car park and take an easy walk along a trail, you will come to a nice cosy pub. It is worth a visit.

It is suitable for children as there is plenty of space in the house and it feels homely. The children never got bored. They were happy to be outside playing in the bay. We also went to The Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park, which the kids really enjoyed. Another place worth a visit is Broomhill Sculpture Garden. It was great to be able to view the interesting sculptures outside. The children enjoyed themselves here too.

On a practical note, we drove into Barnstable, which was easy, as there are shops there to buy food. The parking space at the house is secure. Be prepared to drive slowly down to the Bay through country lanes. As stated Wifi wasn't great, but it means that you really feel refreshed after your holiday as you really have got away from it all. You can't help but feel relaxed here. I think that as the owners actually spend time here themselves you have all you need here and it feels like a home away from home. Mr and Mrs Dean, UK
